There’s something about a handmade card that instantly feels like a hug—and when you add a sweet goose carrying flowers into the mix, it’s impossible not to smile. For today’s project, I created a playful get well card using Brutus Monroe products, layered details, and a fun Polaroid-style layout that feels both modern and heartwarming.

Project Overview

This card combines soft COPIC coloring, bold cardstock layers, and stitched details to create a design that’s cheerful, encouraging, and perfect for sending well wishes. The star of the card is an adorable goose holding flowers—because sometimes a little silliness is exactly what someone needs to feel better.

How This Card Came Together

I began by die cutting and stamping the goose holding flowers from the Love Goose stamp set by Brutus Monroe. With his hopeful bouquet and gentle expression, he felt like the perfect character for a get well card. I colored the image using COPIC markers, keeping the tones soft and friendly to enhance his caring personality.

Next, I stamped the “Get Well Soon” sentiment from the Super Sentimental stamp set onto a stitched circle die cut. The stitching adds subtle texture while keeping the sentiment clean and easy to read.

To create the focal point, I used a Polaroid-style frame die from my stash and adhered the goose onto a bold cobalt background placed behind the frame. This pop of color really helps the image stand out and adds a playful contrast to the softer elements of the card.

For the background, I started with Bubblegum cardstock from Brutus Monroe and added stitched detail using a die from my stash. I then trimmed down Alabaster cardstock and paired it with the blue dot patterned paper from the Gentle Love paper pad. These layers were adhered together and placed on top of the Bubblegum base to create a framed look with depth and interest.

I arranged the sentiment in the top left corner and popped up the Polaroid frame in the bottom right using foam tape for dimension. To finish the card, I added a few pink enamel dots from my stash for a touch of shine and whimsy, then adhered everything to an A2 card base.

Final Thoughts

This card is a great reminder that get well cards don’t have to be serious to be meaningful. A little character, color, and dimension can go a long way in lifting someone’s spirits—and this flower-carrying goose is proof of that. đŸȘżđŸ’•
