Today I’m sharing a festive and functional project that’s perfect for Halloween gift-giving — a coffee cup gift card holderĀ featuring bright colors, spooky-cute paper, and the perfect seasonal sentiment. This card isn’t just fun to make — it doubles as a gift when you tuck in a coffee shop (or spirits) gift card inside!

Project Overview

I created this interactive card using the Kat Scrappiness Cuppa Joe Gift Card Tag Die Set, pairing it with Halloween patterned paper and bold cardstock layers. The playful sentiment ā€œLift Your Spiritsā€Ā ties it all together — ideal for sending a little spooky cheer to friends, family, or teachers this October.

The outside features a pink coffee cup lid, whimsical jack-o-lantern paper, and a spiderweb-inspired background for that extra Halloween touch. Inside, there’s a hidden pocket that perfectly fits a gift card — a fun surprise for the recipient!

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Background

    • Trim orange patterned paper from the Spooky CuteĀ Pink paper pad to 4.25" x 5.5"Ā and adhere it to the card base.

    • Die cut the Spider Web Background DieĀ from black cardstock and layer it over the patterned paper.

  2. Create the Coffee Cup

    • Die cut the base of the cup from black cardstock.

    • Cut the front panel of the cup from the jack-o-lantern patterned paper.

    • Die cut the lid and sleeve pieces from pink cardstock.

  3. Add Texture

    • Using a score board and stylus, score lines every 1/8"Ā across the pink sleeve to create a corrugated texture.

    • Adhere all the coffee cup pieces together with a mix of tape runner and liquid glue.

  4. Assemble the Sentiment

    • Die cut ā€œLift Your Spiritsā€Ā from orange cardstock and the shadow from black cardstock.

    • Adhere the pieces together with liquid glue, carefully adding the tittle dots for the ā€œi’s.ā€

    • Attach the sentiment to the coffee sleeve with foam tape for dimension.
