Dive into Sparkle with This Fintastic Underwater Card | Featuring Love From Lizi

Today I’m sharing a magical underwater card featuring whimsical sea creatures, a shimmery wave backdrop, and a heartfelt pun to brighten anyone’s day! 🐢💙 Designed for Love From Lizi, this project pairs dreamy ink blending with playful textures and a splash of sparkle.

I started with Distress Watercolor Cardstock and ink blended a smooth gradient using Evergreen Bough, Stormy Sky, and Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide inks. To give the background a bit of underwater charm, I heat embossed hearts from the Hey Girl stamp set using clear embossing powder — the little dot details double perfectly as air bubbles! A spritz of clear shimmer spray adds extra sparkle.

Next, I die cut a the Waves Panel from watercolor cardstock and blended it with Stormy Sky, then layered it on top of the base. The dotted border adds a finished feel.

Using the You're Mermazing stamp set, I stamped and die cut some sea plants with the Brother Scan N Cut, tucking them into the lower right corner. Then I added three sea creatures from the Mermazing Ephemera Pack — a turtle, a seahorse, and a narwhal — all popped up with foam tape. I coordinated the ink-blended background to match their dreamy, pastel tones. The sentiment “Have a Fintastic Day” (also from You're Mermazing) was stamped and die cut with a banner die, then popped up for extra dimension.

I finished everything off by adhering the completed panel onto a top-folding A2 card base — the wave panel is just slightly smaller than standard size, giving a clean white border on the left and right sides.
