Card Sketches featuring Creative Expressions "Baby Dear"

For this card sketch, I worked with Creative Expression's "Baby Dear" stamp set. Another Christmas-themed stamp set for my Christmas in July (June) cards. Again, I wanted to go with watercoloring for this image; a sort of perfect imperfect watercoloring. I decided to use my Peerless Watercolors; I have the bonus pack that was gifted to me. It's full of a wide range of vibrant colors so I thought it would be fun to work with!

This time, when I created my sketch, I had a someone general idea of colors but I wasn't set on them. As you can see in my sketch, I originally planned to use red, white and black, but ultimately chose quite different colors based on what I was feeling at the time. I decided to start with the deer and paint them natural colors, include highlights and some detail coloring for the ears and eyes. I colored the leave in the stamp set with a green, and ultimately decided a purple background would look nice finished off with a white and black border to make it pop :)

I found some green sequins that helped to jazz up the card a bit, and ended with a matching sentiment from the stamp set and a black star to match the stars in the picture. I'm not much of a watercolorist, but I do love how it came out despite not being quite like my original sketch ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
