Mojo Monday 445 | SSS May 2016 Showered with Love Card Kit

For this week's Mojo Monday 445, I decided to open and use my Simon Says Stamp May 2016 card kit. To be honest, I wasn't feeling very inspired by the included stamp set, but I did love the color theme of the kit! The cardstock, papers, and sequin embellishments all matched so well, AND the patterned papers were Lawn Fawn, which I feel like is a first.

With this card, I did go a bit out of my comfort zone doing some fussy cutting of the sun (since there were no matching dies for this stamp set) and hole-punching circles to "paper-piece" the cheeks on the sun :)

I really liked this sketch, but I wasn't quite satisfied with the outcome of my first card, so although I am sharing it, I have more to share as well :) Also, I wasn't a fan of either the circle or square shaped cards (just because I like using already made envelopes to pair with the finished card), so I changed the design into a rectangle card.
