I apologize up front that it's been a while since I've posted on my blog or YouTube channel, but with starting a new job a few weeks ago, I've been exhausted coming home from work! I finally got a chance to sit down and create a card (one of my early days off work) using the August 2016 SSS Seeing Stars Card Kit. Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of people would agree that these kit released 2 months too late. If we could have had it for June, we would have been able to make
Is anyone really ready to think about fall yet? I'm not! For me, I feel like summer has barely even started, and I have so much planned (crafty events) before the summer is over. Don't get me wrong, Fall and Spring are definitely my favorite seasons due to the somewhat mild temperatures. My comfortability is a sunny day, about 70 degrees, and a slight breeze, but not enough to mess up my hair! lol! Anyway, while I was searching online for some craft magazines I might consider
There were A LOT of challenges this week that I was interested in doing from sketch challenges to color challenges. I decided to pick both a sketch and color challenge as the base for my card idea. You'll see that I tweaked some things for each challenge to make my own individual card and design. I began my card by referring to MFT Color Challenge #48. Okay, I finally have recorded a video while creating a card from start TO finish. Every. Little. Element. When I saw that this week's Lawnscaping Challenge topic was distressing, I KNEW right away I wanted to do a galaxy background. Other people have done them, but I've never even attempted it as far as I can remember. Plus, I have been collectin
I've been wanting to dip into mixed media for a while now. I've had a mixed-media haul and collected various supplies here and here to add to my stash. However, I really haven't had the time to just play around with my stash and try out any ideas that I've had. Well, I finally sat down one day, pulled out my distress inks, some gesso, a palette knife, and a stencil, then got to work. I'm definitely not the one to know much about mixed-media and what the purpose is for each ty
Ah, it's contest week at Mojo Monday again :) I'm still trying hard to keep up with this schedule of blog posts that I set for myself, but sometimes I get home from work and I'm just so tired... of literally, doing nothing all day. The fact that it's contest week just gave me that extra push... and not only did I make one card, but I made TWO using the Mojo Monday 451 Contest Sketch. So I can submit both cards, my second card will follow in the next post :) For this card, I d
