Chibitronics has made it possible for us card makers to make light-up cards! You know, the fancy ones that'll cost you $10 at Hallmark, lol! Lawn Fawn came out with a kit 2 years ago: Merry Mice Chibitronics Kit. Would you believe I only NOW just got into it and created the cooresponding card?? There's a light-up tag in the kit too which I haven't gotten to yet, because I think I want to turn it into a card as well. Anyhoo, the kit came with everything needed to create a card that lights up and that's the card featured above. Not only do the ornaments light up, but the tree star does too!

The kit included the following: papers cut to make a card and tag, Merry Mice stamp and die sets, Chibitronics starter kit (lights, copper tape and batteries), as well as a template with easy to follow instructions. To make the card, I started off by creating my scene with the stamps. Then I marked where I wanted the lights to go (according to the template included). Next I created my circuit using the template, copper tape, battery and lights. This was placed under the completed card panel with foam tape in between. Last, all that was left was to push the "buttons" and make the card light up; in this case, the sentiment included the "buttons."

Have you tried using Chibitronics lights? What do you think of them? I've heard of an easier kit to make a light up card called EZ-Light that I want to try to see if it is simpler than creating a circuit from copper tape. Tell me what you think!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
