Mojo Monday 483 Contest | St. Patrick's Day Card featuring Lawn Fawn

St. Patrick's Day is coming! I know... we haven't even got to Valentine's Day yet, but there's a reason I had to get started on St. Patrick's Day cards. I have created a group on FB for local friends and family to create Cards for Hospitalized Kids. Once a month, I will have a gathering at my home with a specific theme, guide guests through creating a card, then supplying them with additional materials to create more cards. I chose the Cards for Hospitalized Kids organization due to the fact that it accepts all types of cards including holidays, occasions, thinking of you, etc. I thought this would be a great way to make sure I'm crafting every month, get friends and family together to explore their creativity, and do it all for a great cause :) For this month, the theme is St. Patrick's Day so that by the time we meet, create cards, and send them off, the kids will get them in time for the holiday :)

To get started, I decided to use the sketch from Mojo Monday 483 Contest, as it was a great basic layout and would have room for my leprechaun which I knew I wanted to create! For my card, I began with SU Crushed Curry CS for the matte. I cut down some green patterned paper from the background, which was easy to find with my new system of organizing all my paper (craft room tour to come soon!). I then cut down some SU Garden Green, CTMH White Daisy, and CTMH Sweet Leaf CS to follow the Mojo Monday sketch. I also cut some CTMH Gold Shimmer Trim to complete the sketch, and die cut a Stitched Circle from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Circle dies.

Next, I created my Gnome. I stamped the Gnome from Lawn Fawn's Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set onto Neenah Solar White CS, as well as the Leprechaun hat and shamrock from Lawn Fawn's Hats Off to You. I can't take credit for the idea as I've seen pictures everywhere of people modifying the Gnome using different hats for different occasions, but it was so cute, I had to try it! I used Momento ink for stamping as I was going to color with my Copic Markers... yes, I have finally made the switch from Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to Copic Markers! This is actually only my 1st or 2nd card using Copic Markers to create a card, so I was pretty excited to see how the coloring turned out. The Copic Markers I used are listed below!

After coloring the stamped images, I die cut them, adhered the Leprechaun hat to the Gnome's head (covering the Gnome hat) and the shamrock to his hand. Low and behold... I now had a Leprechaun instead of a Gnome! Love how Lawn Fawn stamps just work together like that :) I stamped the sentiment "happy st. patrick's day" also from Lawn Fawn's Hats Off to You stamp set onto the CTMH White Daisy Cardstock. I adhered everything together and finished off the card with some shamrock sequins and clear wink of stella.

I definitely can't wait to create more with my Copic Markers. I also hope that the kids like this card as much as I do :)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
