SSS February 2017 Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa Card Kit | Coffee Gift Card Holder

When I first saw the Simon Says Stamp February 2017 Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa, I was pretty excited that it wasn't just coffee or tea, but also COCOA! I don't know about you... but the only thing I walk out of Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks with is some warm hot cocoa :) I don't have an acquired taste for coffee, and I only drink tea when I am sick.

When I first opened the kit, I was disappointed to find that the stamp set had some gashes in it, making it impossible to get a clear impression. I contacted SSS, and they sent me a replacement, so this card I idea that I had in mind had to wait to finish until I got the stamp set in the mail. I finally got it yesterday and decided to finish this card I had begun making.

With this being coffee-themed, and the fact that most people enjoy coffee, I thought I would create a gift card holder for to hold a coffee gift card. The sentiment I chose from the SSS Coffee and Tea stamp set reads "with enough coffee anything is possible." This reads to me as an encouragement/feel better sentiment. What better way to cheer someone up with a gift card for coffee?!

For my card, I first cut the pink paper from the kit to 4.25x5.5 to create a matte for my card. I also chose my favorite patterned paper from the kid and cut that to 4x5.25 for my background. I wanted the gift card to be the centerpiece for my card, so I cut down the same pink paper for a matte and some white paper that was a big bigger than a gift card (I had one on hand to help me with measuring). To create the slot for the gift card, I used My Favorite Things' Gift Card Grooves Die, then used some doubled-up foam tape in between the white CS and pink CS to create a slot for the card to go into and be easy to pull out.

I finished off the card with the sentiment from the stamp set, and cut the coffee cups from a cutaway included in the kit. I popped them up with thin foam squares, added some gold glitter hearts from the kit, and topped off the images and sentiment with some clear wink of stella (not really visible in the photo). I absolutely love the colors in the plaid paper and the pattern on the back, so I might have to order some single sheets of that to use some more :)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
