Alright, so it's the first Monday of the new year, and I am determined to stick to the schedule that I have set for myself. Today, I promised I would create a card to share with you using the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, which is Mojo Monday 478 Contest.
For this card, I wanted to pull my Simon Says Stamp January 2017 Snow Much Thanks card` kit, since I had yet to do anything with it other than take it out from the box and transfer it to a ziplock baggie. When I looked through the patterned papers, I was drawn to the plaid paper with pinks and greens in it. This made me think of spring, which also made me think of a new baby.
If you read my last post, I recently inventoried my stamps on my computer in Evernote. All I did, was type in "baby" to find a stamp that I could use. I came across two stamp sets that I wanted to use together. The first was the chick image in Chirpy Chirp Chirp from Lawn Fawn. The second was a sentiment in "It's the Little Things" (now retired) from CTMH.
I first cut down the pink paper and patterned paper from the kit, white paper, and Cucumber Crush cardstock from Stampin' Up! I put my card together and then begun with my images. I ended up stamping the chick and cracked egg images on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink, and then colored them in with Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
After putting together the basic layout for my card, I stamped the sentiment "Congratulations on your exciting news!" with Stampin' Up! Cucumber Crush dye ink on a strip of white paper. I die cut my images and put my card together. I wanted to add more interest, so I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle dies to create a stitched edge around the whole center of the card before adhering it to my card base, which I created from Neenah Solar White 110lb. cardstock. Lastly, I finished off the card with some Clear Wink of Stella, and that finished up my card. Hope you enjoy :)
