Keep It Colorful: Red Lagoon Painting

I've done another one :) These paintings really are addicting, especially as I get better and better with each one. I came across this lagoon sunset painting on Jesse Robertson's website and decided to print the photo and try to paint it just from the photo. I'd like to say I was successful in completing this challenge :) Personally, I'm in love with it. I was shocked I was able to add the grass and cattails without completely ruining my painting. I always get nervous when adding the final details. See that strand of grass pointing left from the right side? That was a mistake. I went with it and made it grass as if it were leaning from the side like some of the cattails. Did you notice? ;)

Compared to the printed original, my colors are pretty spot on. That's one thing I usually don't have much trouble with is color matching. If you look at the picture taken of the original, the colors vary a bit, but I like to think of my paintings as singular paintings rather than a comparison to the original because once I've made it - I own it.

I can't wait to do another one! I have a tutorial one next in mind ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
