Heffy Doodle Spring 2019 Release | My Heart Beeps for You Light-Up Card

Hey everyone! It has been a WHILE since the last time I posted anything or really crafted for that matter. My focus recently has mainly been my job, school, training, and my family and friends. After all of that, I rarely have time to myself... nor do I want to do much else other than sleeping! I've made some cards here and there in the past year since I've moved to NJ, but mainly for specific occasions.

Well, today's special occasion is Valentine's Day :) YES, I know that was sooo last week, BUT I really just didn't have the time to sit and create something and better yet have the crafty mojo to make something amazing for my husband. Every year he expects a handmade card from me for special occasions (because that's what I do) and each time I try to top the previous cards or at least try something new and different. I know he's going to show it off to friends and coworkers so it's gotta be impressive - no pressure though, right?!

A few weeks ago, I managed to catch Lesley Oman from Heffy Doodle in a Live video on YouTube. She was showcasing some new products from the Spring 2019 release. Long story short, I had requested to have the Bleep Boop stamp set with the robot dog, and she made a deal that if we placed any order and wrote Bleep Boop in the comments, we would get it for free! Needless to say, I placed my order immediately, so I could take advantage of the offer as it was only while supplies lasted (these were stamps exclusively for Creativation and she only had a few left over). I ended up buying a few things including the Bots of Love stamp and dies, Love Circuit and Cogs and Code stencils, and the rest of the Sentiment Duos stamp sets that I didn't have. I also purchased a past card kit featuring the Wingman stamps and dies. I was so excited when I received my order because Lesley was definitely generous in the free gifts she included. Once I saw the robot stamps, I knew I wanted to create a Valentine's Day card using them.

Welp, I didn't get around to making the card until today - as I am sick and don't feel like doing much else anyway - #storyofmylife. I surprised I actually came up with an idea but in the end, I'm so happy with how it came out. I used distress oxide inks for some blending with the Love Circuit stencil. I colored images from the Bots of Love stamp set and used a sentiment from the set "My heart beeps for you." This very sentiment reminded me of my Chibi Lights that I have rarely used since I did a haul with them! I had some special effects lights including a "heart beat" special effect and decided I would step up my card this year to include a light up feature with the light blinking like a heartbeat! So awesome :) To my surprise, I was even able to figure out the circuit just by playing around and got it to work the first time! Definitely fun to make if you haven't used Chibi lights yet - I definitely recommend them :)

Here's the final card - I hope the hubby likes it as much as I do :)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
