FREE Goodies from Lawn Fawn | Happy Birthday Panda Card Set

Free? Did I really say FREE goodies from LAWN FAWN?! Yes, yes I did. If you have ordered straight from Lawn Fawn, you should already know that they always include a small sampling of their paper, twine, and a mini sentiment stamp. Well, as if that wasn't enough, NOW they also offer a FREE stamp for your birthday month! My birthday is this month, so I decided to place a small order for a die I was holding out on, then added my free gift to my cart! When I received my order, they had included a free "Happy Birthday" sentiment which I decided to store with the Party Panda set. This got me thinking... what if I used the free stamps, the paper, and the twine to create some birthday cards?!

Whenever I begin a card, I typically select my stamps first, which in this case were the Happy Birthday sentiment stamp and Party Panda from Lawn Fawn.

Next, I continue by creating a card sketch. I have a binder full of card sketches I have downloaded and printed from various places to inspire me when creating a layout for my card.

Then I select a color combination that would work well with the stamp and sketch that I selected. In this case, I used 2 of the free papers from Lawn Fawn, which were blue and green stripes. I always typically pick 3 colors, so I knew I wanted to include white and black as well which go with everything.

For the particular sketch I selected, there were 4 boxes. I decided to cut the green and blue striped papers to 2.5"x2.5". For the background, I chose some Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Up! paper that matched the Lawn Fawn colors. Continuing with my Lawn Fawn theme, I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle Stackable dies to diecut a rectangle from the green paper. I also diecut a smaller rectangle from Stampin' Up!'s Pool Party paper to use for inside the card.

I then took the Lawn Fawn twine and wrapped it around the green paper to create a bow (which was also in the card sketch). I used foam tape to pop that up onto a white top-folding card base. I attached the squares using thin foam tape for some more dimension.

Next, I stamped and embossed the panda, cupcake, and happy birthday sentiment stamps onto Neenah Solar White 110lb. paper. I colored the panda and cupcake using some Copic markers. I diecut the panda and cupcake using the coordinating dies included with the stamp set. I then used a stitched banner die to diecut the sentiment. I adhered these to the card accordingly.

For a finishing touch, I stamped the blue paper inside the card with "Make a Wish" from Lawn Fawn's Party Animal stamp set. I also stamped a candle from Lawn Fawn's Baked with Love stamp set. Lastly, I took out some tiny googly eyes to add to the pandas for some added fun :)

I am ecstatic about how the cards turned out and can't wait to send them next month for some swaps. It was nice to use the free gift(s) given to me from Lawn Fawn for my birthday to make special cards for someone else's birthday :)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting :)
